Privacy Policy

This page explains how Matty Dev handles personal information submitted through this website, especially project enquiries sent through the start-project form.

Last updated: 6 July 2026

Who is responsible for your information?

The data controller for this website is Mateusz Obstawski, trading as Matty Dev, based in Crewe, United Kingdom.

For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, contact hello@matty-dev.com.

I do not publish my home address on this website. If you need to contact me by post about a privacy matter, email first and I will provide an appropriate correspondence address where required.

What information is collected?

If you send a project enquiry, I collect the information you choose to provide in the form. This can include your name, email address, phone number, business name, website link, project type, budget range, timeframe, selected features, content readiness, and message.

The website also uses normal technical information needed to serve pages and protect the form, such as server logs and Django security/session cookies.

Why is this information used?

I use enquiry information to:

  • receive and review your project enquiry;
  • reply to you about the project or ask follow-up questions;
  • keep an internal record of enquiry status and next actions;
  • protect the website and prevent spam or misuse.

I do not sell your information or add you to a marketing mailing list because you submitted an enquiry.

Lawful basis

The main lawful basis for handling enquiry information is legitimate interests: receiving, reviewing, and replying to project enquiries sent through the website. If an enquiry turns into paid work, some information may also be needed to take steps before entering into a contract or to meet legal/accounting obligations.

Who receives the information?

Enquiries are stored in the website's Django admin and sent by email to the Matty Dev inbox. Technical providers may process the information where needed to run the website and deliver email, including the hosting provider, email provider, and transactional email service.

I do not share enquiry information with unrelated third parties unless required by law or needed to protect the website.

How long is information kept?

Project enquiries are normally kept for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless they need to be kept longer because the enquiry becomes active work, there is an ongoing relationship, or legal/accounting records must be retained.

Your rights

Depending on the situation, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the use of your personal information. To ask about any of these rights, email hello@matty-dev.com.

If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.

Cookies

This site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. It may use essential Django cookies for security, sessions, and form protection.

Changes to this policy

I may update this page as the website, enquiry process, or business setup changes. The latest version will be published here.
